The best quote to sum this book comes from the movie Stranger then Fiction.
"It's okay, not the best peace of writing in the past 20 years, but it's... okay."
I loved ready player one, I thought that the movie was trash. But this... I feel like I'm being pulled between two sides. So, to keep it simple, I'm going to present both sides.
Side 1:
Oh my god. This book was so cool, everything that I loved from the original was in this book.
Side 2:
Ya, it was there, he just copied from the original.
Side 1:
But there was new things. 7 of them!
Side 2:
Taking away from each one. They didn't get the detail of the original.
Side 1:
But what about the new head gear?
Side 2:
The original was fine. It just like an excuse to break up Wade and Sam.
Side 1:
You have to admit that he took a risk by breaking them up.
Side 2:
But you know that he was just going to put them back together again.
This is what I think about all the time when it comes to the sides disagreeing. But there are somethings that they both can agree on.
Side 1:
The bad guy was SO cool.
Side 2:
Ya, we was. But not killing Og was a cop out.
Side 1:
Yes, it's true.
So, I wish I could tell you that I felt one way or another, but I can't. I think you should read it if you liked the first one. And just pray that he tries something different next time.
