Bigfoot is a monster truck that is widely regarded as the very original monster truck, first designed by St. Louis construction worker Bob Chandler and debuting in 1975. The truck, despite being considered the original monster truck, has not been seen at Monster Jam events, due to disagreements; regardless, Bigfoot has appeared in many variations at local shows and events.
Bigfoot is seen in the film adaptation of Ready Player One, where it is the main vehicle of Aech, where it used during the Copper Key racing challenge.
Appearance[]
Bigfoot, in its original appearance, is made from a 1974 Ford F-250 pickup truck with large Firestone wheels. It has a blue color with decals from Firestone and Summit, notably with the truck's titular name on the doors, amongst others. Alongside being blue, it has an American flag on the back of the truck chassis.
The Bigfoot portrayed in the movie adaptation is modeled after the 1984 variant of Bigfoot, retroactively referred to as "Bigfoot 4"; it has yellow and red-orange line accents from the center area, notably from the door to the back sides of the truck. This Bigfoot also has a Ford Motor Company logo decal next to the doors, a Firestone logo at the bottom of the doors, and Aech's name at the top of the doors, written in Comic Sans font. It also has several rectangular plastic windshield-like shields with holes, a headache rack with several circular lights, that are black-grey. It retains having an American flag at the very back. This incarnation of Bigfoot also has several buzz saw-like weapons at the front hood.
Role in Ready Player One[]
Bigfoot is first seen at the very front row of the Copper Key race, where Aech offers an empty row spot to Parzival (who drives the DMC DeLorean), though Parzival decides to go to the back to save fuel. When the race begins, Aech drives the Bigfoot into full speed into the connecting bridge to the race stadium, where he utilizes the buzzsaw weapons at the front of Bigfoot to destroy and get cars out of the way when a pileup accident occurs between IOI cars. The Bigfoot avoids the traps on the center area of the bridge, where Aech spots Art3mis driving Kaneda's Bike from the anime movie Akira.
Bigfoot succesfully crosses the large ramps into the second portion of the race, into the city, where it went over several cars. After passing by the hazardous wrecking ball course of the race, it eventually reaches the Chinatown region of the race course, where the Tyrannosaurus from Jurassic Park attacks the remaining racers, where it takes out a good chunk from the Bigfoot's headache rack. Once they get to the final portion of the race, where the racers faced off King Kong, Kong destroyed the bridge, separating the remaining racers from the DeLorean. Because of this, Aech stepped on the brakes of Bigfoot, where it slows down fast, pushing off the Batmobile off the destroyed bridge.
It did not reappear during the re-race where Parzival won the Copper Key challenge.
