In Ready Player One, James Halliday (creator of The Oasis) lists his favorite authors in Anorak's Almanac. This list includes select books from each of the authors. "...Douglas Adams, Kurt Vonnegut, Neal Stephenson, Richard K. Morgan, Stephen King, Orson Scott Card, Terry Pratchett, Terry Brooks, Bester, Bradbury, Haldeman, Heinlein, Tolkien, Vance, Gibson, Gaiman, Sterling, Moorcock, Scalzi, Zelazny"
I started a list on Goodreads where anyone registered on the site can list and vote on books that should be on this list.
Here it is.
the ones who don't have pages, should've clairified it in the title
I just felt like all of the most important plot points of the book were taken away.
Wade's character was such an outcast, not considered a real gunter but instead ignored. He didn't have any items, spent a lot of time in school, and had an extremely low experience level. That's why it was such a powerful thing for him to discover the first key, because he proved you didn't need wealth to be the one to get the egg. Instead you had to be worthy.
However, in the movie he somehow is considered a gunter amongst fellow people, and has no apparent difficulty with money. I think this takes so much out of his character, and his struggle for the egg.
Furthermore, I didn't find any characters relatable or interesting.
But what did fellow fans of the boo…
In Helen's van, there's this sticker.
It looks like a possible reference to manga, i don't really remembered.
if anybody seen or heard anything connected to this, let me know in the comments below.
I propose to merge this wiki with the Doom Wiki. After all, they're both about '80s culture, right?
Any comments welcome, as usual.
The picture below is supposedly a film in the Halliday Journals' film archive along with being in I-ROK's inventory.
Has anybody seen anything like this before?
I've looking over several screencaps from the film to see which films were in the Halliday Journals' film archive. Here's what i have so far.

There are several things which need to be done (such as merging The Cataclyst into Cataclyst, and then deleting the former as it has an incorrect title including a spurious "The"), but nobody is doing them. Hence, as there has been no admin activity for the past six months, I propose to adopt this wiki. I am giving the week's notice required by the adoption process; if I receive no objections, I will push ahead.
Please post your reactions, and votes for or against, in the comments to this blog.
Okay, so this is where I'll put my ideas for OCs/Avatar Ideas/Whatever.

The Three Vultures are a trio of players known among some players for their distinctive vulture emblem and fierce fighting styles, as well as their teamwork in aerial combat. They consist of three brothers, who in real life, help their father to run a general store. They are also fans of Japanese shoot-'em-ups.
- Real Name: Grayson Dillidow
- Description: The oldest of the three Dillidow brothers and frontman of the Three Vultures.
- Avatar: Alucard's (Hellsing) get-up in grey, but instead of the wide-brimmed hat there is a trucker's cap wit…

I would pick a Decudieye/make a Mixed-up Chimera as my Avatar.
1. Be friends to each other. We're all here to celebrate an amazing book and movie. Don't be mean to each other.
2. Don't create articles for characters neither in the book nor the movie. You must provide image proof that a character is in one or both (trailer, scene, chapter reference) before making an article. Uncited articles for characters will be deleted, and repeat offenders will be blocked.
Note that, as per usual for any movie adaptation of a novel, there are several things in the book that are not in the movie for some reason (cut for time or pacing, looks good on the page but wouldn't work in visual media, couldn't get the licence, etc.), and probably vice-versa; hence "not in the book" or "not in the movie" are not valid delete reas…
Hey, out of curiosity: Has anyone considered adopting this wiki? I currently cannot do so myself – I've adopted a different wiki within the last 30 days – but given all the activity on here (and with the RPO film adaptation coming out soon), I just thought I'd ask.
“By 2041, spiked hair and acid-washed jeans were back in style, and covers of hit 80’s pop songs by contemporary bands dominated the music charts.” (Cline, p.8-9)
When I re-read the novel, I instantly remembered this line and thought, “What contemporary bands could cover an 80’s song for the upcoming movie?”
Here is my first thought:
Paramore should cover Pat Benatar's iconic song “Invincible”. The song lends itself well to the story (“We can’t afford to be innocent/Stand up and face the enemy”) and Benatar was Art3mis’s homeworld.
What are your thoughts? Please respond with the contemporary artist, the 80’s song they should cover, and why.
Arcade time! Hey everybody! My name's Noah, and in a couple days i'm going to a giant classic arcade and I was wondering if anyone knows all the arcade games mentioned in Ready Player One. I lost my copy of the book, since I moved into a new house, so I can't find them myself.
Thanks in advance!
