Dubious articles

There are several articles on this wiki like the Gordon Freeman article; they go into far too much detail (much more than is justified by the character's importance to the Ready Player One plot), and the entire article could in most if not all cases by replaced with a wikilink (in the above case, W:c:half-life:Gordon Freeman — I have deliberately not used a pipe, so as to make visible how such a link is made). In the Gordon Freeman case, this was because the article was stolen word-for-word from the Half-Life wiki, underscoring the fact that a simple cross-wiki link would have sufficed and hence the pointlessness of having a copy on this wiki.

Another class of dubious articles is articles on every tiniest little detail of the RPO universe, such as the WWF (Hulk Hogan vs Andre The Giant ) article which is about a minor background detail which is mentioned once (in chapter 20), has no plot significance whatever, and never appears or is hinted at again. What is the point of such articles? It's as if the Pixar Wiki were to have articles on "Buzz Lightyear's helmet" or "Man in striped shirt who watched Carl Fredricksen's house float away at the start of Up."

Please, let's have less quantity and more quality. — evilquoll (talk) 16:49, August 26, 2018 (UTC)

I have now created Template:Origin to make easy the task of replacing article sections stolen from other wikis with links to the original articles. Visit the template page for instructions on its use. — evilquoll (talk) 18:55, August 26, 2018 (UTC)
