I just felt like all of the most important plot points of the book were taken away.

Wade's character was such an outcast, not considered a real gunter but instead ignored. He didn't have any items, spent a lot of time in school, and had an extremely low experience level. That's why it was such a powerful thing for him to discover the first key, because he proved you didn't need wealth to be the one to get the egg. Instead you had to be worthy.

However, in the movie he somehow is considered a gunter amongst fellow people, and has no apparent difficulty with money. I think this takes so much out of his character, and his struggle for the egg.

Furthermore, I didn't find any characters relatable or interesting.

But what did fellow fans of the book think of the film? Did you enjoy it? I'd like to talk to someone about it if you're online.
